Tim Mulvany was admitted to practise in 1972, and established TJ Mulvany & Co in 1980.
Prior to the landmark decision in Re Kay, Tim advocated for children as the separate representative in adoption cases. Since Re Kay Tim has acted as the appointed Independent Children’s Lawyer in numerous Family Law matters.
Nominee of legal profession:-
On founding committee Project Magellan;
On review committee Chief Justice’s Guidelines for separate representation of children.
In 2002 Tim was awarded the Victorian Children’s Lawyer of the Year.
Tim is a member of the Family Law Executive Family Law Section, Law Institute of Victoria and the President Children’s Protection Society.
Tim chaired the Law Institute’s Children and Youth Issues subcommittee for four years and continues to serve on that committee.
